On Sunday we spent a lovely afternoon in the hills with our friends Mark and Lydia. We drove to a village in the hills called Mohos and had a great meal in a traditional taverna in the main square in the village.
We ordered the speciality of the house, meat and potatoes cooked for hours in a wood fired oven. Three of us had pork and Kent ordered lamb.
This is the wood fired oven and this is the food it produces….
A great time was had by all, great food and great company.
We drove back through the hills and stopped in an old village called Krasi which boasts that it has the oldest tree on Crete
It certainly boast a very old spring with communal basins for washing laundry.
All in all a very tasty and interesting afternoon on Crete.
